Auditions to Open for Rantoul Theatre Group’s “A Christmas Story”
The Rantoul Theatre Group will hold open auditions for its production of author Jean Shepherd’s “A Christmas Story” adapted by Philip Grecian. “We are very excited to present this legendary heartwarming classic for the Christmas season.” said Blake Quinlan, director of the holiday play. “We will be looking for eleven actors age seven or older who want to share their talents with the community.”

Auditions are set for Saturday, September 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Rantoul Public Library, 106 W. Flessner Ave. on the former Chanute Air Force Base. Potential actors should come prepared to memorize a short portion of the play and read from the script. If you are unable to attend auditions, please set up a private audition with the director.

“A Christmas Story” revolves around the desires of a young boy named Ralphie Parker who wants only one thing for Christmas- a Red Ryder BB gun. The path to his Christmas morning gift search for the gun is both humorous and entertaining.

The play will open at Grissom Hall Theater on December 3rd at 8:00 p.m., followed by a schedule of December 4 at 8:00 p.m., December 5 at 2:00p.m. Scheduled for the following weekend are showings on December 10 and 11 at 8:00 p.m. and December 12 at 2:00 p.m.
