This play version closely parallels the classic French fairy tale “Cinderella” by Charles Perrault and is authored by Michele L. Vacca and produced by special arrangement with “Classics On-Stage of Chicago.”

Cinderella, a poor orphaned girl is treated harshly by her step-mother and two step-sisters. She dreams of being able to attend the Grand Ball where Prince Philip is to meet his future bride. However, because of the greed and meanness of her step-mother and step-sisters, Cinderella is not permitted to attend the Grand Ball. As in all good fairy tales a benevolent Fairy Godmother watches over Cinderella and comes to her rescue. Cinderella attends the Grand Ball in style but the spell wears off at the stroke of midnight when she reverts back to the poor cinder-girl she really is. Her beloved Prince searches the kingdom to locate the one girl who will fit the beautiful glass slipper. This girl will become his bride and Princess. This is the only RTG show for the 2008 season with a major cast of 35 child actors.
